Our Help Sessions offer insight into your pet's behavior and solutions to some common behavior challenges. These sessions are open to all but registration is required by email 24 hours prior to help session
Help Sessions are offered free of charge. Your donations are welcome, and help us provide affordable behavior services to adopters of rescued dogs and cats.

Dogs W.I.N. Have you ever wondered "Why does my dog do that?" In W.I.N. (What is Normal?) you will learn all about what is normal behavior in your dog. Discover how to provide appropriate outlets for natural behaviors to keep your dog behaviorally healthy and prevent problem behaviors from developing. Learn how to read your dog's body language for clues that tell you if he is relaxed, stressed, aggressive or afraid. W.I.N. also includes information about how your dog learns and how to communicate with him when training.

This is a special help session for people with puppies under 5 months of age. Understand what is age-appropriate puppy behavior, learn how to establish good habits to prevent problems from developing, and discover how to take advantage of your puppy’s socialization window.
Puppies W.I.N. is open to anyone who is interested in understanding more about their puppy – or who might be preparing to bring a puppy into their home. Cats W.I.N. Have you ever wondered "Why does my cat do that?" We also offer W.I.N. (What Is Normal?) for cats. Join us to learn what is normal behavior in your cat, and discover appropriate outlets for normal feline behaviors to prevent them from developing into behavior problems. Learn how to read your cat's body language and vocalizations to better understand her moods and desires. We will also talk about how cats learn, and even explore training techniques for cats!

Housetraining 101 Do you have questions about housetraining your puppy, newly adopted dog, or current dog? We can help! Come learn the dos and don'ts of teaching your dog where and when to eliminate so your home can smell fresh and clean again. Topics covered include housetraining schedules, management options including crate training, troubleshooting, and proper accident clean-up.
WOOF! I can't Stop Barking
Do you need some peace and quiet? Have neighbors ever complained or have had Animal Control at your door, and feel like you've tried everything and nothing has worked? This session is for you. Learn the different reasons that dogs may bark excessively, how to assess what is motivating your dogs vocalization, and what training techniques will work best for your dogs type of barking.
Be Brave: Helping Your Fearful Dog Gain Confidence
Whether your dog has specific fears or is generally timid, learn how to understand the signs of anxiety, how to prevent fear from becoming aggression, and some fundamental techniques to help your “wallflower” dog come out of his or her shell.
Does your dog growl, bark, lunge, and just get all into a tizzy when he sees other dogs or people? If so this class is for you. Learn body language, what steps you can take to prevent your dog from going into this state of mind, and lots more.
